Moving

To meet business and family needs, we are moving to the State of Washington. Cathy and I have already selected a suitable home in Oak Harbor, and hope to close the deal on April 9. The house is lovely and large enough to allow Hazel to live with us while affording her and us a little privacy. We love the neighborhood and the view (we look out over Skagit Bay). As we have beach access rights just a short way from the house, Cathy and I look forward to sunset strolls on the seashore.

Last weekend, we viewed the house and walked down to the cove where the tide was out and the water was as calm as a pond--just waiting for a kayak or two. With the islands and Olympics in the background, the scene was gorgeous. As we stood at the water's edge, a pair of eagles flew by not ten feet from us. Note: Interestingly, we just won a suit against the government for failing to delist the bald eagle as an endangered species. Years ago the Fish and Wildlife Service determined the eagle had made a comeback but the agency took no action to change the bird's status. This is a recovery success story.

Update!

Well, it's been six weeks since my surgery. And, as you can see from the photo, I am doing great. I feel wonderful and plan to be back to work on March 19th.

I was originally scheduled for a follow-up visit to the surgeon on the 20th, but that was rescheduled until May. So, we will have to wait a few months to learn the results of the surgery and whether additional treatment is warranted. No problem. May will be here in no time.

Happy 89th!

Hazel had her 89th Birthday this week. Congratulations!

Instead of traditional cake, we opted for giant cream puffs, thanks to Cathy and Janet. Mmmm!
