Washington

Hazel, Cathy and I visited Dick and Janet for a week in Oak Harbor. It was great fun. They love their place with its ocean view and beautiful fall foliage. We spent two days looking at houses and found a couple that would suit us ideally, so we are looking into making the move. Hazel would move with us, of course, but it's all contingent on my work. We would not be close enough to allow me to commute to our Bellevue Office daily, so I would need authorization to telecommute, at least three days a week. Plans pending ....

McGeorge Law School

The McGeorge Law School (my alma matter) did a great spread on Pacific Legal Foundation in its fall Pacific Law Magazine. The story, with pictures and quotes, starts on page ten.

Computers

Well, my 3 year old E-machine is dying slowly but surely. After spending $100 for repairs that didn't take, I am in the market for a new machine. Any suggestions? Although I love my iBook G4, I think I need to stick with Windows for work compatibility, but do I get a laptop or desktop? Choices, choices.

Visit To Emory

Last week I spoke at Emory Law School in Atlanta. It was a nice trip and the students were very cordial. I was taken aback to learn that of the 600 law students they only have one African-American. Perhaps a little bit of outreach is in order. In any event, I thought the school and the city were beautiful. The school reminds me of Vandy; impressive buildings and trees everywhere. I also love the large brick homes in the area surrounding the university. As it turns out, Hazel used to live in Atlanta.

Marine World

This summer we went to Marine World and had a great time. Here are a few photos from the event.

Amara watching the whale show. Love that profile.

Amara zoning out.

Ethan wanted the pony tail. Forget the ice cream!

Amara with here Gramma Jeppsen. She loved this ride and didn't want to get off . . . Either did Amara.
