Cheap Shots!

I have been patiently enduring the vitriolic attacks against Gov. Palin for days. But yesterday's petty onslaught crossed a line. In an agonizing interview the actor Matt Damon essentially said we need to know whether Gov. Palin believes dinosaurs lived 4,000 years ago (because of her Christian beliefs) if we are to determine her suitability for office. And then we hear Rep. (D) Steve Cohen with this statement on the floor of the House:

"I submit to you, Mr. Speaker, that the parties have differences, but if you want change, you want the Democratic Party. Barack Obama was a community organizer like Jesus, who our minister prayed about. Pontius Pilate was a governor."

Donna Brazile picked up the Jesus/Pilate reference and ran with it.

In response to Damon, Gov. Palin should say that the question of when dinosaurs lived is above her pay grade. Cohen should be reminded that Pres. Clinton was a governor too.

Gov. Palin's only "crime" appears to be her status as a hard scrabble conservative Republican mother. This article by Pat Buchanan puts things in perspective.

If you have heard some cheap shots and wish to vent, post about it here.
